Shark Shield:

Let's face it, no one likes being eaten by sharks. But according to the International Shark Attack File, the '90s had the highest number of unproved shark attacks ever, and the '00s are supposed to haven even more. Yikes. On the note, we give you the Shark Shield, the latest offering from an Australian company of the same name. Lighter and smaller than their previous units (which attached to the ankle), the new shield attaches to the tail of your board and emts a small electrical field that apparently aggravates a shark's snout-based hunting receptors. it's easy to balk at the 2.4-ounce board addiction, the 9-foot ankle dragger's unhappy habit of dellivering mild electric shocks to is owner, or even its weed-whacker effect during any fins-free or aerial maneuvers, but when compared to the unpleasant business of being eaten by sharks...well, we'll let you make the call.
